Construction Projects

State Road 674 Sewage Force Main

The $4.8 million project will construct 11,000 feet of 30-inch sewage force main from U.S. Highway 301, to a lift station located just west of Upper Creek Drive. The new line will be constructed near an existing sewage pipeline and is being built to accommodate growth in the south county area.

Construction is expected to begin by fall 2009.

County Road 672 Sewage Force Main

This $3.5 million project will construct approximately 3.5 miles of new pipeline from U.S. Highway 301 to Balm-Riverview Road. The project is being funded through Water Resource Services’ Capital Improvement Program. The 24-inch pipeline will provide operational flexibility for the wastewater collection and transmission system, as well as accommodate growth in the southern portion of the utility’s existing service area.

Construction is expected to begin in May 2010 and last a year. Because the two-lane road is heavily traveled by trucks during the day, a portion of the work will take place at night, including temporary closures of certain portions and intersections. During these times, a Sheriff’s Office deputy will be posted to assist with access for residents and emergency vehicles.

Project Manager: John Killian. Phone: 813-272-5977, ext. 43312.
