Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Years Day, Memorial Day, the Fourth of July (Independence Day) and Labor Day are Hillsborough County Solid Waste Management System designated holidays. There will be no residential solid waste (household garbage, yard waste or recycling) collection services on these days. There is no make-up day for solid waste collection services. Your next collection will be the next scheduled collection day.

Please Note the Following Collection Schedules for These County-Designated Holidays:

Memorial Day

If you are scheduled to receive residential solid waste (household garbage, recyclables and/or yard waste) collection service on the day that Memorial Day is celebrated, you may set out twice as much garbage on your next garbage pickup day and twice the amount of recyclables and/or yard waste one week from Memorial Day.

Independence Day

If you are scheduled to receive residential solid waste (household garbage, recyclables and/or yard waste) collection service on the day that Independence Day is celebrated, you may set out twice as much garbage on your next garbage pickup day and twice the amount of recyclables and/or yard waste one week from Independence Day.

Labor Day

If you are scheduled to receive residential solid waste (household garbage, recyclables and/or yard waste) collection service on the day that Labor Day is celebrated, you may set out twice as much garbage on your next garbage pickup day and twice the amount of recyclables and/or yard waste one week from Labor Day.

Thanksgiving Day

If you are scheduled to receive residential solid waste (household garbage, recyclables and/or yard waste) collection service on the day that Thanksgiving is celebrated, you may set out twice as much garbage on your next garbage pickup day and twice the amount of recyclables and/or yard waste one week from Thanksgiving Day.

Christmas Day

If you are scheduled to receive residential garbage collection service on the day that Christmas is celebrated, you may set out twice as much garbage on your next garbage pick up day. If you are scheduled to receive residential recyclables and/or yard waste collection service on Christmas Day, you may set out three times as much recyclables and/or yard waste two weeks from Christmas Day.

New Year's Day

If you are scheduled to receive residential garbage collection service on the day that New Year’s is celebrated, you may set out twice as much garbage on your next garbage pick up day. If you are scheduled to receive residential recyclables and/or yard waste collection service on the day that New Year’s is celebrated, you may set out three times as much recyclables and/or yard waste one week from New Year’s Day.

Veterans Day

Solid waste collection and disposal services continue as usual on the holiday observed for Veterans Day. If you are scheduled to receive residential solid waste (household garbage, recyclables and/or yard waste) collection service on the federal holiday that Veterans Day is celebrated, your garbage will be picked up on the usual schedule. The Southeast County Landfill, Northwest and South County Transfer Facilities, Resource Recovery Facility, Hillsborough Heights Community Collection Center, and the Alderman Ford Community Collection Center are open for their usual operating hours.
