Instructions For Submitting Consultant Appraiser Pre-Qualification Application

The Real Property Section of the Hillsborough County Real Estate Services Department is in the process of updating its Approved Appraiser List for the next three-year period, effective August 3, 2012.  If you would like to be considered for the updated list, please provide us with a completed application.

 

The Consultant Appraiser Pre-Qualification Application must be completed in its entirety.

Please submit your application in hard copy by mail or electronically by email, along with a photocopy of your current Florida General Appraiser certification.  If submitted by mail, please send to the following address: Hillsborough County Real Estate Services Department, 601 East Kennedy Blvd., 23rd Floor, Tampa, Florida 33602, Attention: Henry Ellis, MAI.  If submitted by email, please send to Henry Ellis

All applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on June 1, 2012.  No applications will be accepted after this deadline.  Please contact Henry Ellis at (813) 307-1009 if you have any questions regarding the application or the process.

 
 

Appraiser Qualifications

The following information shall be utilized as criteria in selection of the most highly qualified applicants for the County’s Approved Appraiser List:

  • Memberships and designations in professional appraisal associations
  • Educational background of appraisers
  • State of Florida general real estate appraiser certification
  • Total number of years in appraisal business
  • Type of appraisals performed in Hillsborough County
  • Right-of-way appraisal experience
  • Right-of-way appraisal review experience
  • Number of right-of-way appraisal projects completed
  • Samples of recent right-of-way appraisal reports (upon request)
  • Eminent domain appraisal experience
  • Eminent domain trial testimony experience
  • ELAPP/State Environmental Land appraisal experience
  • Prior appraisal assignments for other government agencies
  • Maintenance of an appraisal plant
  • State of Florida or Hillsborough County Disadvantaged Minority/Disadvantaged Women Business Enterprise Program certification
  • State of Florida or Hillsborough County Small Business Enterprise Program registration
  • Prior performance and/or responsiveness to requests for bids on Hillsborough County appraisal projects (if applicable)

Applicants may be required to attend a personal interview as part of the approval process.
