Sandra Sroka has more than
twenty years of administrative experience in the fields of health and disability, both in the public and private sectors. She currently
is the Americans with Disabilities Act Liaison for Hillsborough County. In this position, she is responsible for ensuring the county’s
compliance with the ADA. She also serves as a liaison between the disability community and the county government to identify and address
concerns impacting the lives of citizens with disabilities and to improve the level of awareness on disability issues and available
resources.
In addition to her professional activities, Sandra has been a staunch advocate on behalf of persons with disabilities through
her past leadership activities in the community, including with the Florida Development Disabilities Council; as chair of
the local Center for Independent Living; as past chair of the Tampa Mayor’s Alliance for Persons with Disabilities;
as a board member of the local chapters of the National Spinal Cord Injury Association; the Multiple Sclerosis Society;
and the Florida Alliance for Assistive Technology. Sandra also has been the receipt of the Florida Disabled Woman of the
Year Award, the Mayor’s Outstanding Community Service Award, the March of Dimes Outstanding Contribution Award, and
the Sertoma Outstanding Community Service Award. |
