Support Services Mission Statement
Our role is to support the agencies and departments that provide services to and interact with our ultimate customers, the citizens of our community. We deliver facilities support services with demonstrated cost effectiveness – ensuring clean, comfortable, safe and healthy environments.
Parking Administration Services
Hillsborough County operates four multi-level attached or stand-alone parking structures, seven surface lots and a combined total of 1,636 parking spaces. We accommodate both employee and public parking needs while maximizing revenues and minimizing management costs per space. Over 95% of our parking spaces are reserved and our operation is entirely self-sustaining. Revenues generated by Parking Administration are placed back into the County General Fund.
Public Parking
The Pierce Street garage, 319 North Pierce Street, is the only County owned and operated parking garage available for citizens receiving governmental services at the Fred B. Karl County Center. All other County operated lots and garages are reserved for employees of the Board of County Commissioners, Constitutional Officers and the 13th Judicial Circuit. Please review the parking map for directions to Pierce Street garage. The entrance is located on Jackson Street and the exit is onto Pierce Street. The first hour of parking is provided at no charge to visitors. Each subsequent ½ hour is $.80.
There is metered parking along the streets, in City of Tampa operated garages and private parking lots in the downtown area. Metered spots use new solar-powered pay stations that make visiting downtown much easier. The pay stations accept nickels, dimes, quarters and dollar coins as well as Visa and MasterCard credit or debit cards.
