of preventative law and alternative dispute resolution techniques.
The County Attorney is appointed by and reports to the Board of County
Commissioners. The County Attorney advises and represents the County Commission,
as well as the County Administrator and county departments.
The office also prosecutes and defends legal actions by and against the
county as approved or directed by the Board and County Administrator.
The officers created under Section I(d) of Article VIII of the Florida
Constitution, Clerk of the Circuit Court, Property Appraiser, Tax Collector,
Sheriff, and Supervisor of Elections also may use the legal services of
this office.
