GATES (Girls Advancing To Empowerment and Self-Sufficiency Program)
GATES Transitional Living Program is open to young ladies ages 16-21 who are aging out of the foster care system, or are at risk of homelessness. The program provides an empowering life experience in a stable, safe, and secure living environment for young ladies who are not able to live with their families or guardians and are in need of assistance preparing for adulthood. Transition development is addressed in 5 CORE areas; Employment, Education/Vocation, Life Skills, Financial, and Personal Enrichment. The program provides living accommodations, independent living skills training, educational opportunities, mental health counseling, advocacy, referral and linking services in a person-centered, strength based approach. The ultimate goal is to provide each young lady with the tools necessary to be a productive member of society, able to thrive in an ever changing world. The program serves up to 16 young ladies.
