Participants at the Wacky Olympics on April 16, 2010, had a blast competing at Nintendo Wii games such as golf, bowling, and Dance Dance Revolution. The wave runner game was a favorite, too. The electronic games are a fun way to get seniors involved in exercise, and because they are low impact, people at any fitness level and those with impairments can play. The games were intergenerational, with kids from the Brandon Recreation Center helping to show seniors the ropes. The Brain Academy, games emphasizing cognitive challenges, was sponsored by the LEAF Foundation.
